Jesse Butterworth Pays Homage to Family With “After It Rains”

‘…Jesse is a man to whom family is everything and “After It Rains” is a fitting testament to that…’

When faced with crippling hardships, sometimes your first instinct can be to completely give up. Jesse Butterworth has experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows, having received multiple award nominations and vast praise and badly injuring his leg in a show and then battling a rare disease – life has been quite the rollercoaster for him. He could have let the challenging times bring him down but instead he chose to push on and rise above.

His new single “After It Rains”, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, truly conveys that immense strength. The track showcases Jesse’s velvety vocals gushing atop a cozy landscape of stunning strings and delicate percussion and pays homage to his three children while also commending the devotion of all the fathers out there. The release is taken from his upcoming album All The Gold I’ve Struck which centers on finding treasure even in the darkest of situations.

Jesse’s eight-year-old-daughter Harper developed the video’s concept. From goofing around with his daughter in the woods, to staring at cloud shapes in the park and roasting marshmallows, the video is heartfelt and playful. The colorful, drawn in cartoon images add to the childlike innocence the visuals evoke and the closing shot of Jesse cuddling on the couch with his daughter and their dog makes for an emotive end to an already tender piece.

More than anything, Jesse is a man to who whom family is everything and “After It Rains” is a fitting testament to that, as well as a beautiful tribute to his wife Marissa and their three kids Liam, Finn and Harper.
