Managing EditorJessica Lange is to hang up her witch’s hat and entering the world of gaming signing on to play Mark Wahlberg’s mother in The Gambler. The American Horror Story star will play the “rich and ostentatious” mother in the Paramount remake of the 1974 film, according to Deadline. The Gambler tells the story of a college professor (Wahlberg) whose gambling addiction gets out of control leading him to not only make some “nasty new friends” but also results in him stealing from his mother to help feed his addiction. Rise of the Planet of the Apes director, Rupert Wyatt is helming the remake from a script by William Monahan. Lange has received rave reviews and acting accolades for her work in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story. Currently enjoying its third season revolving around witches and the occult set in New Orleans, AHS has recently been renewed for a fourth season by FX. Lange recently announced that season four would be her last on the horror series.
