Jimmy Kimmel is getting a little help from some friends this week, as he takes a brief break from his nightly talk show. He is handing over the reins to a roster of guest hosts due to a cold and a postponement of his son's previously scheduled heart surgery. Because of a minor cold he and his family have been dealing with, the doctors decided to move the surgery as a precautionary measure.
In his absence, this week the show will be helmed by a different host each night, beginning with Shaquille O'Neal on Monday, which Kimmel was particularly stoked for:
I am thankful for and excited to see my dear @SHAQ guest-hosting my show tonight and making my desk look tiny— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) October 31, 2017
Which he did, in fine form:
On Tuesday (Halloween!) night, Dave Grohl steps in, followed by Channing Tatum and then Jennifer Lawrence (who will be interviewing Kim Kardashian!). (Jimmy Kimmel Live! does not tape on Fridays.)
In a statement, ABC said, "Jimmy is very grateful [to the guest hosts] for filling his very small shoes as guest hosts this week while he, his wife, and children sneeze on each other."
Here's wishing Jimmy Kimmel and his family a speedy recovery!
