It was only a couple of months ago a new Harry Potter story was announced to be in the form of a stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Now J.K. Rowling has whetted our appetites even more by dropping some hints in regards to the mysterious child in question – via her increasingly brilliant Twitter account.
She has previously rejected rumors the play will be a prequel in typically hilarious fashion, and has stated that the story will be separate from the original books but that it will still be "a real treat for fans."https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/614902795280457731?ref_src=twsrc^tfw https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/614904102028464128?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
Now, we have a little more information about the Cursed Child itself. In reply to one fan on Twitter, she explained the child is not in fact Tom Riddle (aka Lord Voldemort), although she expressed that this theory was a good one.https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/634663427684876288?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
When another fan asked, "is the cursed child a character we have already met, or a new one completely?", JK cryptically replied, "answering that would give away a huge amount. To quote Chris Cornell: 'You know my name'."https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/634665468117274624?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
The potential news we already know the name of the Cursed Child is enough to send Potterheads over the edge of excitement!https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/634666523370627072?ref_src=twsrc^tfw
