Content Editornewest tale, available on Pottermore in 'The Golden Stadium' moment in Book 4. The short story, which can be added to your Pottermore account favorites under "objects," makes Scotland "the de facto national side of the wizarding community." Through Angus Buchanan, rugby player and Squib, Rowling shows how the wizarding world can exist peacefully with its Muggle counterpart through its Squib community. Buchanan's talent on the Scottish rugby team reveals Rowling's own support in the recent rugy match against Italy. Rowling chooses known characters in the world of rugby to act as the link between the non/magical communities. A few of these are Stuart Hogg, who currently plays for the Glasgow Warriors, and is comfortable playing several positions; Kelly Brown, a flanker for the Saracens and captain of Scotland's national union team; and Jim Hamilton, who currently plays for the French rugby team, Montpellier. Old names come back in this short, likening Hamilton to a young Rubeus Hagrid. In the introduction to the story, she describes the Muggle sport as "a wizarding meme--part in-joke, part genuine interest," due to the separate views on Muggle sports within the magical community. You will need a Pottermore account to view this story on-site.
