Following the announcement of One Direction's extended hiatus plans, One Directioner's expressed their feelings of shock, anger and heartbreak, but some remained filled with hope that their favorite band would indeed reunite. You know who doesn't have any hope of this happening? Former NSync member Joey Fatone.
On AboveAverage, Fatone made a lengthy post in reaction to One Direction reportedly going on a hiatus. Fatone starts his humor-laced post by sarcastically saying the band will regroup and be stronger than ever after each member ventures down a solo career of their own. Fatone follows the statement up with a perfect "HAHAHAHA, PSYCH" before proceeding to elaborate on what will really happen.
Harry Styles will, during the break, go on to have a successful solo career, filled with collaborations with well-known artists and once his "second less awesome album hits", Styles will "let his hair grow super long and wear it in two braids", crush a self-effacing cameo in a Judd Apatow movie, buzz his hair and release a third, self-produced album on which he hints at being bisexual that everyone will call his 'best work.'"
In regards to Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson, Fatone comments these three are "fucked." Fatone gives a best case scenario, which involves musicals and random hosting jobs, before saying, "Do you know what Chris Kirkpatrick is doing? Because I don’t. He’s completely unreachable. He might be managing a Best Buy in Sacramento, he might be dead. No one knows. Louis, I’m looking at you."
Fatone does provide an exception though and the only exception would be if one of them turns out to be gay: "Wait till One Direction has been dead for two years, kiss your hot boyfriend at an awards show, then ride that relevance like a beautiful boner and pray to God you get a show on Bravo."
Fatone clarifies that he does think they're all talented, but that Styles is just way more talented than the remaining members. The piece is finished, after jokes about NSync, with a simple, "Anyway, enjoy the next few months, One Direction, because they’re your last."
Wow...just wow! As a member of a hugely popular boy-band, Fatone does know what he's talking about, but will One Direction truly crumble after taking a "break." I'm not sure if this will apply to One Direction, but when looking at bands such as NSync or even The Jonas Brothers, I do wonder what fate awaits the hugely loved band.
I'm not a huge fan of their's, but even I can acknowledge that One Direction has been hard at work since their claim to fame and that they definitely do need, and deserve a break. The band has been on tour for quite a while and they've been releasing an album, or at least working on one, after the end of each tour. Do I think the band will disband or that one member will receive more success than the other? That's not something I'm too sure about. Only time will tell what will become of the members of One Direction.
What do you think about Fatone's comments regarding One Direction? Is One Direction truly dead once the hiatus hits?
