John Travolta has released a statement about his little mishap with the Idina Menzel name butchering that took place at the Oscars this past Sunday. He called her “Adele Dezeem” at the start of his introduction of her performing “Let It Go” from the Oscar winning film Frozen.
John Travolta’s publicist sent a statement to CNN recently, requesting that the entire statement be shared and it reads as follows: “I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought…what would Idina Menzel say She’d say, Let it go, let it go! Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”
In an ironic twist, the statement was not only distorted, but also appeared to be missing some key phrases. The incident has caused it’s share of fun on any and all social networks since the Oscars, and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
We also think Travolta deserves some praise for inspiring Slate’s new widget that allows you to “Travoltify” your name, giving us hours of endless entertainment.
