Being such an intense actor, it is often difficult to forget how Johnny Depp is apt at comedy as well, as evident in his iconic role as Jack Sparrow. The trailer for his upcoming film, Mortdecai, has just been released, and it looks like we will be getting a very different performance from Depp.
Based on the book anthology The Mortdecai Trilogy, the film stars Depp as a suave British spy travelling the world to look for a work of art that could lead to some ancient treasures. The film also stars Ewan McGregor as a detective, along with Aubrey Plaza, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Paul Bettany, who plays the title character's gruff manservant.
The film is directed by David Koepp, who recently directed Premium Rush and Ghost Town. This is his second collaboration with Depp after Secret Window, which was released exactly ten years ago.
The film is set to be released in February next year.
