Jon Stewart is the man. We've all known this for a while, but he once again proves that he is THE man. In the seemingly eternal feud
between Stewart and Fox News, another fire has been lit. According to Fox News, it's the end of the world due to "entitlement spending," which is the network's way of ridiculing people on government assistance.
Stewart in turn went after the network for their relentless focus on seafood purchases, rather than the whole problem of welfare abuse. After Jon's jab at them, Fox News went off the deep end. They referenced Jason Greenslate, a man who has bought lobster with his food stamps, claiming that millions of other Americans follow suit in abusing and wasting government assistance by buying large price food items. Of course, good ole Jon had a thing or two to say about that:
"You thought we were ridiculing you for exposing government waste. No, that’s a reasonable thing to expose. That’s not what we were talking about. What we were ridiculing was the way you exaggerate the scope of public assistance abuse through random, often unprovable anecdotes, hour-long specials. . . ."
The end result? Jon congratulating Fox News on finding their "food-stamp abuse Bigfoot" and pointing out once more the network's tendency to overexaggerate things to galactic proportions. The Robin Hood of news media groups puts Fox News in their place once more.
Long live Jon Stewart and his amazing snark!
