In his directorial debut, Joseph Gordon-Levitt both directs and stars in Don Jon, a story about a man named Jon Martello with a massive pornography addiction. Jon vows to become less selfish and more honest after learning valuable lessons on love from a night school classmate named Esther (Julianne Moore) and classic romantic Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson).

Alongside Gordon-Levitt will be Brie Larson and Tony Danza in supporting roles. According to Gordon-Levitt, Don Jon is what he considers a love story.
“I wanted to tell a love story, and in my observations, what gets in the way of love often times is the way the people objectify each other,” he states.
