Your Raptor Squad has just chewed up The Avengers and spat them out like Earth's Mightiest Heroes were a mere appetizer for their main course of world domination. Translation: Jurassic World is now the third highest-grossing film of all time.
Yes, Jurassic World has overtaken The Avengers in the third place slot of highest-grossing movies. Or, brilliantly, the highest-grossing movie of all time -that wasn't directed by James Cameron. Did you even think THAT was possible?
The dino summer blockbuster has now brought in $1.522 billion globally, shoving Nick Fury's ragtag crew of superheroes down to fourth place with their pitiful £1.520 billion. Can you open a theme park full of genetically modified dinosaurs with that kinda chump change? No, Marvel, no you can't.
It's still someway behind Cameron's Titanic and Avatar (2nd and 1st, respectively), however, it's worth noting that Jurassic World doesn't open in Japan until August 5th, so it has time to put some serious distance between itself and The Avengers.
With most of the big summer blockbusters now already released, it looks like it'll be some time until that milestone is hit again.
Well, until The Force Awakens comes out, that is.
