Justin Bieber stormed off stage in the middle of a concert at Manchester Arena on Thursday last week.
This was a reaction to fans who booed him for talking too long in the middle of a concert; all they wanted him to do was to perform his songs.
The singer was trying to explain why he named the concert series The Purpose Tour, but fans weren't having it, and he threw down the mic and walked off, returning to stage a few minutes later.
Fans captured the moment on video.
He said he wasn't “trying to be an a-- h#@-" but he just wanted to take a moment.
“I’m just going to quit the talking, alright. I’m not going to talk the rest of the night ... We’re just going to do the music. Obviously Manchester just can’t handle it so let’s do the music," he said.
Later he explained, "The reason why I was getting upset earlier was because I travelled across the whole world to come here, and I dedicate my life to performing and bring smiles to people's faces ... I feel that people were just not giving me the same respect back, and it hurts a little bit, so that's why. But we're gonna end it on this last song ... 'Baby'."
Journalist and TV Personality Piers Morgan has called him out for his behavior:
"He was angry because some of his fans started booing when he kept stopping his show to talk to them about why his tour was called Purpose. Yes, a 22-year-old pop star wanted to discuss the purpose of life ... There was just one problem: the fans wanted to hear him sing, not preach to them. Not, you might think, an unreasonable sentiment given they had forked out $60-$85 for basic tickets, with VIP packages going for $160," Morgan pointed out.
Fans were split with what the singer did with some supporting him and others not amused with his behavior. What do you think? Was he justified in walking out for a few minutes or is he just a celebrity throwing a tantrum?
