We’re not sure where this rumour first surfaced but it appears that people have been speculating Justin Timberlake will be a co-star or villain in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.
Well, it’s not happening folks!
JT has officially refuted any claim that he could be in talks to star in a superhero movie.
“Something I said recently got completely misinterpreted… I have no desire to be any kind of superhero,” he told the press at a recent event. “I could never live up to those kind of standards.”
We dunno about that JT, you’re a pretty impressive guy!
Justin set the rumour mill in motion not long ago when he started fangirling over Batman during a radio interview with Fresh 102.7’s Jim & Kim show while promoting Runner, Runner - a project he stars in alongside Batman-to-be, Ben Affleck.
“Now, a villain! I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, is The Riddler. The Riddler is my favourite villain. The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I’m gonna play crazy, I wanna play proper crazy.”
It seems these comments were simply misconstrued, and as of yet nobody has been officially cast as a villain in the hotly anticipated Superman Vs. Batman flick.
For a while there we all thought Bryan Cranston had been confirmed in the role of Lex Luther but it turned out to be wishful thinking when the Breaking Bad lead announced that he had not made any casting deals related to the film.
The Man of Steel sequel will be directed by Zack Snyder and has been written by David S Goyer. Superhero lovers everywhere await its cinema arrival on July 17, 2015.
