We all know that Kanye West likes to say what’s on his mind, from the Taylor Swift incident to the now famous rants he goes on at his concerts, but has he taken it too far this time?
While at the celeb showing of the new TMNT film at the Hollywood Theatre, it was brought up after the movie that Kanye’s latest record, Yeezus, reminded an undisclosed person of 2Pac’s Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z, which didn’t sit well with Kanye.
“How you gonna go compare my music to 2Pac?” he said, “2Pac wasn’t no musician. He was an actor. What was he in? Juice? Above the Rim? He was the most overrated rapper in history and you come up in here comparing him to me? A real rapper…a real star.”
Kanye thinks that the only reason Shakur is so big nowadays is “cuz he got shot”.
Even close friend and long-time collaborator Jay-Z thought Kanye had overstepped the line: “You know I love Kanye. He’s my boy. But that’s messed up, man. He shouldn’t be throwin’ those rabbit punches down low in 2Pac.”
West has yet to make an apology, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up for one from him.
