Aca-scuse me? Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Longmire, Riddick) revealed in a recent interview with Collider that she was actually cut from the smash comedy-musical hit flick Pitch Perfect!
While visiting her fiancée, producer Scott Niemeyer, on set, she was cast as a rival love interest for the object of Anna Kendrick’s character’s affection.
”I was there one day visiting on set and they needed a DJ,” said Sackhoff. “The guy that Beca [Kendrick] was dating was dating the DJ, and they said, ‘Katee, wouldn’t it be really funny if you threw a brown wig on and played the DJ?’ And I was like, ‘Perfect, I’ll do it.’ So I was actually in the movie, but not in the movie.”
Though Sackhoff never made the final cut, she revealed that she does still make residuals on it, which makes her fiancée “so mad.”
"He’s like, ‘You didn’t even do anything!,’ " Sackhoff laughed, saying that she "made like 14 cents the other day."
A sequel to Pitch Perfect has been announced for 2015, and Sackhoff is all over Niemeyer for a role. “I can sing, and I have said to him once or twice [Pitch Perfect star] Anna Camp
Anna Campis my age,” she said. “Like, what are you doing here? Come on, buddy. I just give him shit all the time.”
But Sackhoff is doing just fine, even without the role. “I produce with Tricia [Helfer] and I’ve got a bunch of projects in the works,” she said. “I mean, listen, if I could go back, like two years, and kick [my fiancé’s] ass to be in Pitch Perfect, I probably would.”
If I were her fiancée, I might be a little scared. Starbuck can kick some serious ass.
