Katy Perry is allegedly gearing up to kick of a new era of music with a hot summer single!
It has been more than a year since pop hitmaker Katy Perry has graced fans with a sweet pop confection, but rumor has it that things are about to change. The "Teenage Dream" siren has been hard at work in the studio since earlier this year, and it seems as though we'll be hearing the fruits of her labor in the next few months.
Nothing has been confirmed by Camp Perry; however, Mike Adam of Philadelphia radio station 96.5 AMP FM
swears that a new single is coming soon. "It looks like #KatyPerry's lead single for #KP4 will drop next month" he tweeted alongside the fire emoji.
The single will kick off the promotional campaign for her fourth studio album. Her last studio album, 2013's Prism
, spawned some of the biggest hits of the year and debuted atop the Billboard charts.
Rumors have been compiling for months now that Katy Perry's upcoming album will feature a response track to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood." Although nothing has ever been officially confirmed, fans have long speculated that Swift's frenemy anthem was written about Perry. Since the single flew to the top of the charts alongside the squad-glorifying music video fans have been desperate to hear Perry's side of events. She's remained fairly tight lipped about things, but it would be pretty interesting to hear something beyond a tweet from her.
Regardless, it seems highly unlikely that the alleged response track would be the first single. Katy Perry's anticipated return to the scene will unlikely be all about the songstress, her fans, and possibly a cupcake bra. We'll have to wait and see though!
