A teaser for Katy Perry’s new single “Roar” has been released.
In the 30-second clip, the singer can be seen emerging from the darkness with a lighter, which she uses to set fire to her infamous blue wig, which she wore throughout her “California Dreams” world tour.
The track, called “Burning Baby Blue,” is the first single to be released from her new album Prism, which will mark the singer’s transition toward a “more mature” sound. The preview shows the star breaking away from the previous cartoon-style image.
The teaser ends with the hashtag “#ROAR” in tiger print and the release date of the single, August 12th.
Perry recently embarked on a marketing campaign for the LP by sending a mirrored gold truck, depicting the LP’s title, to various cities around the globe.
Prism, which is Perry’s third studio album, is set for release on October 22.
