With the single already number 1 in the charts, Katy Perry’s recently released music video for Dark Horse has also proved popular. With over 30 million views since its release on Feburary 20, the video sees the singer transformed into Cleopatra.
The video is true to what fans have come to expect from most Katy Perry videos: bright, colorful and also just a little bit crazy. Whilst the video itself, with its bright neon pinks and blues, may not be quite the typical Egyptian image, Perry certainly plays every bit the powerhouse role of Cleopatra, sought after by many men. Whilst some men try their luck with Perry’s take on the Egyptian queen in the video, they fail to impress her.
With four weeks already at Number 1 in the Hot 100, Dark Horse marks Katy Perry’s ninth number one single. We certainly can’t get it out of our heads, and now that we have a crazy video to watch too, it could be around for a while longer!
