Katy Perry’s newest single “Unconditionally” is dominating at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the pop diva is gearing up to release its music video, according to Billboard
The teaser, recently revealed online, is 43 seconds of well-dressed couples dancing and lounging at some sort of ball, while snowflakes fall around them. To top it all off, after a flurry of brief clips, the songstress herself appears in red and gold, belting out the chorus with those signature vocals.
The song and video clips bring to mind the drama and beauty of Perry’s 2009 single “Thinking of You”.
“I wanted to go a different route. One that was based on beauty and glamour and gorgeous shots and a little less of a story line, but there is one part in the music video where I get hit by a car. It’s a metaphor to talk about how when love finds you, it’s kinda like being hit by a car,” she told MTV News
“Unconditionally” is the follow-up to her eighth Hot 100 number one single, “Roar”. Both tracks are on her latest album, Prism,
which is out now.
The music video premieres during MTV First: Katy Perry ‘Unconditionally’
on November 19 at 7:53 pm EST.
