Earlier this week, Katy Perry reached the 50 million follower milestone. Up to this point, no other artist can claim this achievement. The “Roar” songstress took to Twitter to acknowledge her achievement in becoming the most followed person in Twitter’s history.
Oh yeah AND we grew to 50 million Katycats! Eh, regular day at the office. 🙌
She had already gained Twitter fame with 46.48 million followers in November, passing Justin Bieber, who at the time had 46.47 million followers. Bieber currently has 49.3 million and, as you would assume, his recent scandals probably boosted the follow count.

Two years ago, Lady Gaga had become the first person on Twitter to achieve 20 million followers. She proudly held her throne before Bieber surpassed her. Mother Monster now is currently the fourth most followed after President Barack Obama, who has 41 million followers.
