According to ESPN’s Keith Olbermann, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter shouldn’t be praised as much as he has been. After all, he didn’t invent baseball!

Unless you have been hiding under a rock this year, you probably know that this is Yankees favorite Derek Jeter’s final year in the major league. Since this is the case, “Jeter Fever” is at an all-time high as the baseball season winds down. In fact, many are praising the player as one of the best baseball has seen.

Keith Olbermann is not one of them.

The EPSN host started his Tuesday (Sept. 23) show with a look back on Jeter’s legacy, too. However, he did not have the same kind words that many other hosts and fans have uttered. Instead, he had this to say:

“Derek Jeter is not the greatest person in human history. He did not invent baseball. He did not discover electricity. He is not the greatest shortstop who ever lived.”

Olbermann went on for more than five minutes about Jeter, the results of which can be seen in the video, below:
