The first trailer for Hercules: The Legend Begins has been released.
Twilight star Kellan Lutz stars as the Greek hero in the Renny Harlin-directed film. The plot centers on Hercules going on a journey to win the heart of the Princess of Crete, even though she was already promised to his brother.
Harlin describes the 3D film as a cross between Gladiator and Clash of the Titans.
“We’re somewhere between Gladiator and Clash of the Titans,” the director said to Empire. “Ours is definitely based on the mythology of Hercules, but we don’t have monsters and flying horses and things like that
The movie will also not include the famous Twelve Labors or will it talk about the death of Hercules’ family.
The film also stars Scott Adkins, Liam Garrigan, Roxanne McKee, and Gaia Weiss.
Hercules: The Legend Begins in 3D will be released into theaters August 1, 2014, but you can watch the trailer below.
