Kelly Clarkson Slams VMAs Perfomers With Opinionated Hashtag

Uh. Oh. The pop goddess has spoken…and it’s not very nice!

As we all are all aware by now, the VMAs aired last night, straight from Brooklyn. While I didn’t take part in the festivities live, my timeline did on Twitter. The show was crazy and people are still talking about it!

How crazy?

Well, let’s see, Miley Cyrus dry humped one of those big foam fingers while performing with (and also more or less dry humping) Robin Thicke, and she did it while wearing a flesh-tone latex bikini. Seriously, at first glance, I thought she was naked. This is after her costume change, from a bustier that appeared to have been made from the pelt of a slain Chuck E. Cheese. Yeah, it had a face.

Lady Gaga performed her new single “Applause” for the very first time, also wearing a bikini (well, by the end of it she was). Thankfully she channeled her inner Ariel and wore shells, but still. It was a bikini. Although she didn’t hump anyone, so that’s something.

While some people are still recovering from the show, Kelly Clarkson, who was also late to the party,  had something scathing to say after watching a few people perform:

Ouch! Them be fightin’ words!

One fan tweeted her a reply and said, “WTF, that wasn’t very nice” to which Clarkson responded, “that WAS me being nice.”

Grrr! It looks like Katy Perry isn’t the only one getting her fight on. She, too, performed last night - in a boxing-themed debut performance of her single “Roar” - and while she wasn’t quite in a bikini, she did end up wearing fewer clothes than she began with!

While she didn’t drop any names, there were just those three women whose performances would merit such commentary. After all, she certainly isn’t talking about the lovely performance of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love”, featuring both Mary Lambert and fellow American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson.

So, what did you think of the VMAs? Sound off, Wrappers!
