The Twittersphere has been buzzing about Kendrick Lamar’s guest spot on Big Sean’s new track “Control (HOF),” which also features Jay Electronica. The song, which is set to appear on Big Sean’s new album Hall of Fame, features a verse by Lamar where he claims he is trying to “murder” the competition between fellow rappers in the music industry.

“I’m usually homeboys with the same n***as I’m rhymin’ with/ But this is hip-hop and them n***as should know what time it is,” raps the ‘Swimming Pools’ performer. Lamar continues with, “And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale/ Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rock, Drake. Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but I’m tryna murder you n***as/ Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n***as/ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n***as.”

On Twitter, fans of Lamar praised the verse and declared him as on of the best rappers currently in the business. Others went on to make fun of rapper Drake’s potential reaction to the controversial lyric. “Control (HOF)” can be found on Hall of Fame, which will be released in the UK on August 26th and on the 27th in the US.
