star Kevin Connolly is headed for CBS next month.
He’ll be starring in a new comedy, Friends With Better Lives
, alongside Majandra Delfino, James Van Der Beek, and Brooklyn Decker.
The sitcom centers on six friends at various romantic stages in their lives--from married to newly divorced—and although they pretend to be happy, they’re all wondering if their friends have it better than they do.
Connolly plays Bobby, seemingly happily married to Andi (Delfino).
Although some similarities can be seen to CBS’ hit show How I Met Your Mother
, Connolly respectfully denied that there were any, for now.
"I wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on us, or disrespect them in that way. Having said that, I believe the target audience is similar -- and maybe five years from now, or sometime down the road, it would be fair to make that comparison,” he told Zap2It
This will be his first regular TV appearance since starring in Entourage
on HBO for eight seasons.
He and that cast (Adrian Grenier, Jerry Ferrara, and Kevin Dillon, to name a few) have recently reunited to film a movie, after years of speculation and rumors.
The 39-year-old said that their reunion has been “amazing” so far.
“We've been off the air for about two-and-a-half years, but we had long hiatuses between seasons, so it's not really that different. It's like having extended one of those breaks,” he explained. “Everybody's exactly the same and up to the same tricks, so not much has changed. If anything, the people are grateful to be back, and I think everyone realizes it's a special opportunity. I mean, how many shows have done eight seasons and a movie? Few can say that, so everybody's locked in and enjoying the ride."
Friends With Better Lives
premieres on March 31 at 9 pm EST.
