Kevonna Rose Shares Intimate Video For New Single “In Between Kisses”

“I just want to have a conversation.”

If you like acts such as Lianne La Havas and Lauryn Hill, chances are you might already be aware of Kevonna Rose, and if you’re not, she’s certainly an artist to watch; there’s a charm and energy to her and her music that feels both timeless and fresh.

So, what’s her secret behind her hyper-relatable, ‘appeals to music fans of all ages’ songwriting? “I just want to have a conversation,” shares Rose. “And if it sounds good too… give me a GRAMMY!” She’s someone influenced by a wide range of artists and genres; the raw honesty and soul of Amy Winehouse, the bluesy touch of Etta James and the melodic sensibilities of Corinne Bailey Rae are all present through her lyrics and instrumentation, including those and that which make up her latest single “In Between Kisses.”

The track, the first to be lifted from her upcoming sophomore EP due out in the Spring, is a heartfelt, indie-pop love song with an unmistakable tenderness and vulnerability, all about the early stages of a relationship: the will they/won’t they, the second-guessing, and the giddiness of it all. A brilliant showcase of Rose’s impressive song-writing talent, the song plays like an endearing diary entry, sharing thoughts and feelings you most likely wouldn’t say out loud but wish you had the nerve to.

The accompanying video is just as romantic, depicting two lovers in bed, leaning in and pulling away from each other, whispering sweet nothings into each other’s ears. With every sweeping shot and intimate glance, the video is the perfect visual accompaniment to the single, matching the lush production with luxurious sets, costumes, makeup, and more.
