Universal has been having a good summer with its hits like Fast and Furious 6 getting high numbers in the box office.
The studio hopes that the awaited sequel, Kick-Ass 2, will continue this high streak for the studio later this summer. Universal released a new trailer and it features main characters Kick Ass (Aaron Johnson) and Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) fighting more bad guys with the help of a new character, Colonel Stars and Stripes, who is portrayed by Jim Carrey.
With a bunch of sequels to hit films, like Despicable Me 2, hitting the theaters, Kick-Ass 2 will try to get the same audience that helped The Expendables. Kick-Ass 2’s budget was same as the first, which was around $30 million.
The film is set to hit theaters on Aug. 16.
