A headline worse than any Halloween horror story is the news of the three kids who were struck by a truck on their way to school on the morning of October 30th. The victims, who have been identified as Cornisha Flugence, age 15, and Kylee age 14, have been declared dead and the third victim, Niya Flugence is in hospital in a stable condition. The accident occurred on Thursday morning at approximately 7:30 while the three girls were on their way to school. According to KFLY news, the three pedestrians were struck by a pickup truck being driven by 32-year-old Jeremy J. Abraham. It is still unknown if anything occurred inside the truck that might have caused the accident. Police are aware though, that after Abraham struck the kids, he continued driving, only to hit a pole. He drove into a ditch, and only after hitting another culvert, did the truck stop. Abraham is now in hospital in critical condition. A toxicology sample has been taken. A child who just missed the accident was the brother of one of the deceased victims. He did not have enough time to warn the three victims, and was a witness to the accident. The tragedy has hit hard in the town of Breaux Bridge. Thoughts and prayers are pouring in for the family and friends of the 2 young victims. Counselling is being provided to the families of the victims and any others who are affected by this horrific accident.
