Kings Of Leon plans to return to the stage, after a number of cancelled shows this month.
The band only took a break because Nathan Followill, the drummer, suffered a rib injury during a tour bus accident. They are finally ready to perform again though, since the drummer is healing just fine. His brother and frontman, Caleb Followill, went on to say:
“He has this protective gear that he’s wearing that’s there to help him. (On Thursday), we went in (to rehearsal) and we kind of loosened up a little bit, played five or six songs. (On Friday), we went in and played more, but by the end of it he was definitely tired. Hopefully he continues to heal. We’re going to throw a long set at him this weekend so he better bring his A-game, otherwise you’re going to have a three-piece up there with no drums.”
The bandmates are set to play their first live concert today (August 31), at Made In America festival in Philadelphia.
With the drummer properly recovering, they are also ready to get back in the studio, in order to create new music. Caleb could not hide his excitement and stated:
“I am very excited for the future. I think we’ll really go in there and write some songs we’re proud of, but at the same time, I’m ready to get back on the radio, so I want to write some hits.”
Kings Of Leon are currently touring with their latest studio album, Mechanical Bull, which was released in September 2013.
