Kit Harington Cast In New Thriller, Brimstone

Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington has landed his first big movie role in Brimstone, a thriller, opposite Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce.

As it turns out, Jon Snow does know something.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has been cast in Brimstone, an upcoming thriller starring Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce.

The film will revolve around Dakota Fanning’s character Liz, who is a character on the run from her past, who is being chased by Guy Pearce’s “diabolical preacher.” It is described as a “vivid and powerful epic of one woman’s defiant resistance.”

The film will also star Paul Anderson, Jack Roth, and Carise van Houten.

The movie has gone through several casting changes since its green light. Mia Wasikowska and Robert Pattinson were set to star in the piece, but have since been replaced by Dakota Fanning and Kit Harington, respectively, with no explanation on the latter casting change.

Principal photography on the piece has already began, and shooting is scheduled to take place in Romania, Germany, and Spain this year. The film was both written and directed by Matin Koolhaven, whose credits include Winter in Wartime.

Harrington will play an outlaw who helps Fanning’s character Liz in her quest to get away from Guy Pearce’s preacher. He is a principal character in the film.

Kit Harington has even been eyeing a role in the upcoming Zoolander 2, saying he would jump at the chance to star in the fashion spoof, and would like to play a character and not have a cameo.

Here’s hoping, Kit.

The actor will have more time to look into movie roles now that his role on Game of Thrones may have died down—Disclaimer: I’m still in denial after that finale—so he is looking to exercise his comedy chops and show that he’s not just a chiseled jaw line and dramatic acting talent.

Which anyone who has seen Game of Thrones The Musical, or his recent appearance on Graham Norton, can attest to fully.

The man is talented.

So, PopWrappers, are you a fan of this casting news? Or would you rather see Robert Pattinson in this role? Let us know.
