Kris Angelis is quite the talent. Not content with creating great, immersive and emotive music, she’s also a dab hand at directing, as she proves via the video for her latest single “Meet You In Our Dreams”, which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere. Filmed along the California coast, with scenes shot in Monterey and Big Sur among others, the video blends stunning scenery with a tender, warm vocal from Kris, with the track teasing a little of what fans can expect from her upcoming album ‘The Skies We Look To’, which is available for pre-order now.
Kris explains of the creative process to and behind the video: “The video was shot and edited with just a three-person crew including me. The concept is that I keep thinking I’m awake in the mundane world and then finding myself in different dream places, searching for the person I want to be with, fall asleep with, and fall in love with. It’s myself. We were dealing with lots of rain and wind which was rough but made things look pretty epic and luckily, we were done shooting out in Big Sur the day before the road fell into the ocean! I chose to shoot in that area because it’s beautiful but also because it’s where I spent my adolescence and often return there in dreams.”
She goes on to add that:” The cover of the upcoming album this song is from, “The Skies We Look To”, is a stunning photo of the stars over the mountains of Big Sur taken by Lee Holbrook who also shot and edited the video. I had fun including other little “easter eggs” for all the songs on the album throughout the video. It will be fun to see if people spot any of them once they hear the songs.”
