Staff WriterHollywoodlife.com, Kristen Stewart is the favourite to play the lead in the new Disney movie. The newest live-action installment will be directed by Twilight: Breaking Dawn director, Bill Condon. According to HitFix, the film is set to be “ a 'straight-forward, live action, large-budget movie musical.” Condon is said to have been impressed with Steward’s work in her previous Disney inspired flick, Snow White and the Huntsman. Although it might be a bit soon to be placing bets on the casting choice, a source close to the actors revealed, "The process and the script for the movie are still in the beginning stages but as it fleshes out, Bill Condon has definitely thought of Kristen Stewart as a possible Belle". It’s not all set in stone yet, however, as the actress' age could still keep her from the lead role. At 24, there are fears that by the time the film is ready to start production, they may be looking for someone “younger.” Even if her age does not pose a problem, there may also be schedule conflicts which may cause problems. "By the time they make the film, it might be 2015 or 2016 and they think she'll be busy and they might go after somebody younger. Disney's thoughts are, the big name for the film should be devoted to the Beast so Kristen has a 50/50 chance to be Belle," the site revealed. It will be interesting to see how this fleshes out, as some speculate Disney's original animated Belle is in her mid-twenties. Not a huge leap, and Kristen could be made to look younger if needs be. Could they just be trying to make problems out of nothing? Or is it time from some new talent to take a crack at a big Disney role? As to the writing, there have been no statements released from either Disney or Kristen’s management team, so we will have to wait and see if these claims are true. What do you guys think? Is Kristen too old to play Belle, or should they be using her either way? Make sure to tell us down below and have your say!
