The best-known car racing action movie series Fast and Furious just might have gained a bit more Stuntman Mike.
As reported by Variety, actor Kurt Russell, known for his role in the old TV series The Quest as Morgan Beaudine, is in discussions with Universal Pictures to be in Fast Seven, in which he would portray a hidden role that the studio originally saved for Denzel Washington. On August 1st, Washington decline the role.
Not much is known about Kurt’s involvement in the film, but it is anticipated that his character will also be involved in the eighth movie in the franchise. It is something that would imitate what Universal had done with Jason Statham’s Fast and Furious Six appearance (Jason’s role was set up as a villain in Fast 7).
Kurt is no stranger to action films as he appeared in Tombstone, Sky High, and Little China to name just a few. He also appeared as the earlier mentioned Stuntman Mike in director Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. This movie concentrated on a stuntman who used his perpetual car to kill innocent women.
James Wan is set to direct Fast 7 which is due to release next summer.
