There can only be one Queen of Pop, and Lady Gaga doesn’t want the title or the throne. Gaga’s feuds with other notable people in the entertainment industry have been a topic of interest surrounding the release of her third studio album ARTPOP. The most notable feud that people seem to never forget is the one between her and Madonna, the so-called reigning Queen of Pop. The feud supposedly began last year after much criticism that “Born This Way” sounded a little too much like Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” The real controversy started when Madonna referred to the song as reductive, and then went on to perform a medley of the two songs during her tour ending with the words “she’s not me”. She may perform the song, but it’s clear that she wasn’t quite happy with Gaga’s work. In a recent interview with Attitude magazine, she opened up about the performance, but also stated that she doesn’t care what Madonna does with it. When the “Applause” singer sat down with Howard Stern on Tuesday (November 12), she had a little bit more to say on the feud between the pop icons. On the topic of jealousy, Lady Gaga doesn’t think that Madonna is jealous at all. "To me honestly I think she's more aggravated that I'm not upset that she doesn't like me. Because I don't care that she doesn't like me,” she explained. Lady Gaga has been quite quiet when it comes to her feuds, not poking back. While most people seem to be afraid that Lady Gaga may take Madonna’s title, Lady Gaga wants nothing to do with it. She’s her own artist. “There’s this thing with some people that I’m a threat to the throne. I don’t want your f**king throne, no thanks, I have my own,” she said clearly tired of the accusations. She then went on to say she doesn’t want a throne at all. She said: “I don’t view myself as a queen, I view myself as one of my fans.” Let me just note that fans go hard and are devoted to their Mother Monster. ARTPOP, which just released this week, may be on its way to #1 on the Billboard Charts. Whether or not she wants the title of Queen of Pop, she is still a pop icon.
