When told that Lady Gaga’s new single Venus was part of a trilogy, everyone’s first thought was that it was the fabled end to the Paparazzi and Telephone trilogy. It has been revealed via her Twitter, however, that her new single is actually the beginning of a new ARTPOP trilogy.

Lady Gaga had a ‘ARTPOPquestion’ trend on Twitter, in which she revealed a lot about her forthcoming album. When asked about what inspired ARTPOP, she replied: “I delved deep into my heart and mind and truly made a record that I wanted to listen to. Nothing I thought I had to make.”

As well as this, Lady Gaga revealed, also on Twitter, that ARTPOP is currently her favourite album, yet Born This Way will always hold a special place in her heart.

The Venus music video will be directed by Ruth Hogben, a British film maker, best known for her work with Nick Knight.

ARTPOP is available for pre-order now, being released on November 11th and is Lady Gaga’s third studio album. This will be preceded by Venus, which will be released October 27th as a follow to recent lead cut Applause .
