Pop-star turned actress Lady Gaga is the latest cover star for Entertainment Weekly, and, as she prepares to no doubt thrill viewers of American Horror Story: Hotel when it airs in October, her appearance gives fans a little glimpse as to what they can expect from her - image wise, at least in photos from this season of AHS: Hotel.
As to how Gaga got cast in the show, it turns out she called Ryan Murphy and said:
"Ryan, I wanna be on Horror Story."
Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think I could have said no to her, and Murphy didn't either. He said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The new AHS series centers around Hotel Cortez, a 1930's structure that was built by the charming but psychotic (those two always tend to go hand in hand, don't they?) James Marsh played by Evan Peters. Despite the glamorous look to the hotel, it is in fact hiding the multiple murderous acts committed by Marsh (and here was me thinking Peters was a nice guy..)
In the modern day, Gaga's Countess acquires the hotel. She (perhaps a little surprisingly) is a glamorous socialite who rather than slapping on the Estee Lauder skin care, maintains her looks by instead imbibing human blood. She's also a very fiery character when it comes to love and romance, so get ready for a love triangle between herself, model Tristan (Finn Wittrock) and Donavan, played by a blood hungry Matt Bomer.
Notably absent from this new series is Jessica Lange, meaning Hotel will be the first AHS series she hasn't appeared in. However, the new series does feature Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Wes Bentley and Denis O'Hare.
American Horror Story: Hotel premieres October 7th on FX.
