Today (November 3), mere hours ago, Lady Gaga uploaded the audio of her last promo single from her upcoming LP, ARTPOP, to her Vevo account.
"Dope" was originally called "I Wanna Be With U", as performed in the iTunes Festival, September 1.
The song is one of her rawest, most emotionally loaded tunes to date, with Gaga singing about how her "Heart might break without you, might not awake without you" because she needs you "more than dope". The song is an anthem to celebrate her love for her little monsters all over the world. Her voice sounds truthful and broken while the piano and an occasional synth burst in the background, which only makes "Dope" sound even more fantastic.
Besides breaking our hearts, "Dope" - along with "Venus", "Do What U Want" and lead single "Applause" - have hyped us up even more for ARTPOP's official release. And, you know, it's not a Lady Gaga record unless it has a brilliant, soulful ballad in it.
Check out the song below and tell us your thoughts below. Also, be sure to buy ARTPOP when it comes out November 11.
