It’s a good time for late night television! With Jay Leno’s recent departure from The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon took over and has raked in the highest ratings for the NBC talk show in 20 years. Fallon has received support throughout his new run as the Tonight Show host, with guests like Lady Gaga, U2, and Will Smith in his premiere week. In other late night television news, the Comedy central series @midnight has hit its highest ratings of 731,000 viewers for its time period and received a .7 in the important 18-24 demographic, even managing to slightly beat out Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, and the two shows went on to tie for the 18-34 demo. With these late night talk shows on the ratings rise, it appears that both will be around for quite some time.
