It isn’t new news that Frozen has been a success; since its release, the movie has dominated the movies and grossed more than $914 million worldwide, being the second-highest grossing, non-sequel animated release in history.

And it’s not only the movie that is a success; Frozen soundtrack has currently spent 10 weeks on the Billboard chart, selling over 863,000 copies! And with its outcome, we can expect a stage interpretation to hit Broadway in the future, video games and toys, a lot of toys.

But the question is: Will a Frozen sequel be making its war to the theaters?

Although there have been a lot of Disney films that received a direct DVD follow-up, only three sequels made it to the movies: “The Rescuers Down Under”, “Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland” and “The Jungle Book 2.” Collecting the three movies, they grossed only $291 million.

But The Walt Disney Company CEO, Bob Iger, doesn’t seem to be scared. His excitement certainly suggests the company will go ahead with it.

In an interview to Fortune Magazine, Iger said that Frozen has given their company a new hope and sense of accomplishment. While the company doesn’t release a date for the sequel, Disney is demanding that it be just as excellent as the first.

And following a Reddit AMA conducted Monday with the team behind Frozen, it seems like they will go on board too. When the sequel question popped up, they said “anything is possible.”
