A&E has green-lit a series adaptation
of the Swedish horror-vampire tale Let the Right One In.
The powerhouse network is teaming up with Teen Wolf
showrunner Jeff Davis and screenwriter Brandon Boyce in order to adapt this series, which is based on John Ajvide Lindqvist's best selling Swedish novel of the same name.
Let the Right One In
tells the story of a bullied boy who unknowingly becomes friends with a vampire. The critically-acclaimed novel spawned two films (one Swedish and one American) that were equally loved by fans and critics alike. The American version, titled Let Me In,
starred Chloe Grace Moretz as the vampire, Abby and Kodi Smit-Mcphee as the tormented Owen.
The project is still in early developmental stages and is being produced by A+E Studios and Tomorrow Studios. This series marks A&E's third remake series behind Bates Motel
(which is based on Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho
) and French zombie drama The Returned
. It is not clear as to whether or not the show's title will remain Let the Right One In
. It's also unclear as to when the show will debut and when filming will begin. It'll be a good long while before we get the ball rolling on this show. But, from what I know so far, it will definitely be worth the wait.
