As we get closer to February 24th, otherwise known as Oscar Sunday, the buzz surrounding the actors and films nominated keeps growing. This past weekend, however, was all about the some of the folks behind the scenes of the films up for Oscar glory.

Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana hosted the Scientific & Technical Awards on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 

the Beverly Hills hotel

in Beverly Hills, CA. These awards honor the men, women and companies whose discoveries and innovations have contributed in significant, outstanding and lasting ways to motion pictures. Each year’s honorees are celebrated at a formal dinner held two weeks prior to the Oscar ceremony.  Unlike the main awards, these Sci-Tech Oscars not only honor films from the past year but also people who have been industry for years and have helped mold movie technology.

This year’s winners are:
