@kkelliottLittle Debbie recently revealed their newest mouth watering “I cannot live without it” bakery item to add to your list of guilty pleasures, the Cosmic Cupcake. In honor of the reveal, Little Debbie went above and beyond to promote their new product by literally sending a box of Cosmic Cupcakes alongside a Little Debbie bobble head into space. Seth Griffin, a direct source from the company, stated that Little Debbie was originally going to partner with NASA to send the cupcakes on an actual space launch, but due to timing issues, they settled with a weather balloon. Partnering with the Birmingham Rocket Boys, based out of Alabama, and High Altitude Science, Little Debbie sent Little Debbie and the Cosmic Cupcakes sky high, armed with 3 GoPro cameras to capture their travels. After a trial run, the launch went public in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the Challenger Center. The event attracted about 50 elementary school students, excited about the launch which was the first time a major snack cake brand has been to space. When the journey was over, Little Debbie and her Cosmic Cupcakes were found via GPS 140 miles away in Waynesville, North Carolina. You can watch the prep video accompanied by the footage caught by Little Debbie during her cosmic trip below.
