Actor Josh Holloway is making his return to television in the new CBS drama series Intelligence. The show follows Holloway as intelligence operative Gabriel, who’s brain is implanted with a super-computer microchip. Holloway’s character marks the first human to be given such a gift, which gives him the ability to hack into any data center and obtain access to vital intelligence. Holloway is joined by an elite team, including his partner, Secret Service agent Riley Neal (OUAT's Meghan Ory) and Director Lillian Strand (Marg Helgenberger) as they fight for the United States, protecting it’s populous from enemies. Holloway spoke exclusively with Collider on the Los Angeles based set, as to why Intelligence in particular called him back to television, along with other questions about the new drama. After Lost wrapped, Holloway was a high person of interest for television, but refused to come back to the silver screen. With Intelligence, Holloway claims he's able to see one of his acting dreams come true. “I’ve always wanted to play a spy,” the actor says in the interview. “I had three brothers, growing up, and we’ve been playing versions of that game, my whole life.” Recently, Holloway wrapped filming on the new David Ayer action vehicle, Sabotage, starring alongside legendary action star Arnold Schwarzenegger and Joe Manganiello of True Blood fame. For the film, Holloway had taken SWAT training, which only made him him more excited to play a spy on TV. “There’s the fun being-a-spy side that I was very attracted to, but I didn’t want to do a rehash of what’s already been done, a thousand times. And then, there was the adding of the computer chip and the technology, and the questions that poses today, in our everyday life,” says Holloway about undertaking the CBS drama. Be sure to catch the premier of Intelligence, Tuesday January 7th, with a move to Monday night beginning January 13th.
