Former star of 90’s hit series ‘Xena’, Lucy Lawless, has now landed a starring role in the upcoming ‘Evil Dead’ television show sequel, ‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’.

Lucy Lawless is poised to kick ass in yet another role, and this time around she’ll be doing it in the company of an old friend.

The actress will be on board for a major role in Ash Vs. Evil Dead, the new TV series sequel to the popular horror-comedy movie franchise. Lucy Lawless and Ash himself, Bruce Campbell, previously worked together on her long-running adventure series Xena in the late ’90s.

In the new Evil Dead series, Lawless will play Ruby, a woman pursuing Ash, believing the beleaguered stock-boy-turned-reluctant-hero to be responsible for the return of the Deadite plague.

Ash is always the charmer, though, so maybe Ruby will end up fighting by his side before too long!

Lucy Lawless also has a family connection with the project, as her husband, Robert Tapert, is the series’ producer. Production is scheduled to begin next month and the show will air on the Starz network next year.
