The Macarena’s Lyrics Are Way Dirtier Than You Could Have Imagined

We once thought the “Macarena” was a simple song where you shook that thang for 3 minutes, but the lyrics are a little more risque than previously thought!

The song that sparked the 90s dance craze, that is still present at every wedding reception and children’s party through out the western world, has had some new (and shocking!) analysis. The 1994 nostalgic hit “Macarena” by Los del Rio, contains the following lyrics:

“Macarena tiene un novio que se llama, que se llama de apellido Vitorino, y en la jura de bandera del muchacho se la dió con dos amigos … Aaay!”

Which if you don’t speak fluent Spanish, translate as:

“Macarena has a boyfriend who’s called … who’s called the last name Vitorino, and while he was taking his oath as a conscript she was giving it to two friends … Aaay!”

So “she was giving it to two friends”, seems like the song is actually about a girl who was having a threesome with two people,  not including her boyfriend whilst he was away!

Does this translation change the way you look at the song? Or does it still have you saying….AAAYY Macarena!
