One of the brightest stars in Vegas has passed away
Mantecore, the white tiger who was a part of the Siegfried & Roy magic show, succumbed to illness on March 19th.
The animal performer was 17 years old, and had been with the duo for thousands of performances at the Mirage Casino and Resort.
The tiger was an animal of beauty, but was also brought to the forefront of news back in 2003 when the animal attacked Roy Horn on stage, and on the performer's 59th birthday. After the attack, Roy recovered, and although he was partially paralyzed from it, he never once did blame the tiger for the aggression.
Today on their website, both Siegfried and Roy mourn the loss of Mantecore, whom they consider a brother. They also stated they were happy his fame and now legacy has helped contribute to better conservation and preservation of animals, endangered or not.
We say goodbye to this gorgeous tiger and hope for much better days at the Mirage in Las Vegas.
