Look, we know married couples argue (I’ve heard a rumour, and I’ve seen it in TV and movies).

Apparently, even fictional married couples argue it seems; here we have Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton (formerly Coach Taylor, and Principal Tami Taylor from the brilliant drama series Friday Night Lights) apparently disagreeing on a major thing:

The making of a Friday Night Lights film.

See, we left off at the 5th season, with the show wrapping up with Coach Taylor at a new school, reciting the famously inspiring mantra of ‘Clear Eyes, Full Hearts’ (and waiting for ‘Can’t Lose’ from the new team). Then, the Coach and his wife walk off into the sunset. Okay not quite, but its them walking off the field as the bright stadium lights turn off.

Kyle Chandler is probably not going to be Coach Taylor again, stating that it would be unnecessary because the show ended in ‘the right way’.

It wasn’t a sudden cancellation, it wasn’t a cliffhanger—it had a decent ending. Heck, it even had a montage!

But as the topic came up again at a recent reunion that happened at the Austin Film Festival, Connie (now playing a well known country singer on Nashville) said that she couldn’t help but look over at former onscreen husband Kyle because “he and I are sort of on different sides of the fence with the movie idea.”

Worryingly for Chandler; Brian Grazer and Ron Howard (via Imagine Entertainment) confirmed in May they’d be trying crowd-sourced funding to get a movie up and running. With the recent monumental success with Veronica Mars, this may be a reality because of the Friday Night Love and the love of fans and critics alike. But even FNL alum Scott Porter (now seen on Hart of Dixie) says that he ‘wouldn’t want what we did to be tarnished in any way’.

With such warm memories of the Taylor family and the entire show as a whole, don’t hold your breath. You can’t have one Taylor without the other.
