An update on old and new data has been released giving better understanding of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that disappeared on Saturday, March 8.

During last contact with air traffic control as it was nearing Vietnamese air space the plane was reportedly flying at a cruising altitude of 35000 feet. Military radar tracked it changing altitude after making a sharp turn as it headed toward the Straight of Malacca.

The area the plane flew into after turning  is a heavily travelled air corridor and that flying at 12000 feet would have kept the jet well out of  the way of that traffic.

The plane flight was tracked by military radar between 1:19 a.m. and 2:40 a.m. the day it went missing by military radar, but it is not clear how long it took plane to descend to 12000 feet.

Some analysts said the planes drastic descent could have been due to a mechanical problem.

Thoughts and prayers are the only things we can offer to the friends and families of all passengers.
