Bill Clinton thinks that boxing superstar and Philippine Congressman Manny Pacquiao should run for a higher office. On an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live
last Wednesday night, the former President shared his thoughts on what Pacquiao, who was also a guest on the show, should do with his political future. “He’s (Pacquaio) already in the Philippine Parliament, and I hope he goes right on up the ladder. I think he’s a great guy and he’s a great role model for the country. He’s very strong and honest.” Clinton said.
When it was Pacquiao’s turn to be interviewed Jimmy Kimmel told him what Clinton had said and asked Pacquaio if the thought of running for President had crossed his mind, to which Pacquiao coyly replied “ Right now I’m focused of(on) my position as (a) Congressman” Spoken like a true politician indeed. Pacquiao has been serving in the Philippine Congress since 2010, his wife Jinkee Pacquiao is also a politician and was elected Vice-Governor of their home province in 2013. When asked by Jimmy Kimmel if Jinkee should run for President, Manny just said that it was a long way to go, to which Kimmel jokingly replied “So that’s a no.” Manny just nervously laughed. I wonder what Jinkee would think about that?
If you wish to see Manny Pacquaio in action, he is set to fight Timothy Bradley on a rematch on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it will be aired live on HBO PPV
So what do you think? Should Manny Pacquiao run for higher office like Clinton suggested? Or maybe his wife?
