Mark Ronson is returning to the scene with his upcoming, fourth studio album, Uptown Special, the follow-up to 2010's Record Collection. The producer has now gone and dropped the lead single of the record, titled "Uptown Funk" and featuring Bruno Mars.
There is no denying "Uptown Funk" is one hell of a song and you can tell upon first listen. Upbeat and instant, the track serves as a 70's-inspired tune, groovy and catchy as anything. With bass and horns right in place, it's crystal-clear disco-pop with retro references and something from the electro-funk of Daft Punk's mega-hit with Pharrell, "Get Lucky". What a tune! We could even dare you to listen to it just once, but we don't hate you so there's no reason to do so.
There's not the slightest of doubt that the song is going to be massive once it's officially out. Mark Ronson definitely got this one right sonically and most probably, we'll be listening to it throughout the year. The addition of Bruno Mars on the vocals only makes it all better, so all you can do is give "Uptown Funk" a listen below and get hooked.
